What Does Mark 13:27 Mean?
"And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven." After the Son of Man's coming (verse 26), He sends ANGELS to GATHER His elect — from every direction (four winds), from every location on earth (uttermost part of the earth), to every extent of heaven (uttermost part of heaven). The gathering is COMPREHENSIVE and ANGELIC. No elect person is missed. No location is too remote. The collection spans earth and heaven.
The phrase "send his angels" (apostelei tous angelous autou — He will send His messengers/angels) means the gathering is DELEGATED to angelic agents: the Son of Man doesn't personally collect each person. He SENDS — He dispatches angels with the mission of gathering. The sending implies organized deployment. The angels have a mission, a territory, and a target: the elect.
The scope — "from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven" (ek tōn tessarōn anemōn ap' akrou gēs heōs akrou ouranou — from the four winds, from the edge of the earth to the edge of heaven) — is MAXIMUM: every compass direction (four winds), every geographic extreme (edge of earth), and every cosmic extreme (edge of heaven). The gathering covers the entire CREATION. No dimension is excluded. No corner is unreached.

The 'send his angels' makes the gathering ORGANIZED and DISPATCHED: the Son of Man doesn't wander the earth collecting. He SENDS — angelic messengers deployed with a specific mission. The gathering is a military operation: agents dispatched, territory assigned, target identified. The angels are the collection force. The elect are the collected. The Son of Man is the Commander who sends.
The 'four winds' covers every DIRECTION: north, south, east, west. No compass point is excluded. The elect are scattered in every direction — and angels go to every direction to retrieve them.
