What Does Psalms 33:11 Mean?
"The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations." This verse contrasts human plans (verse 10: "the LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought") with divine plans. Human schemes are dismantled; God's counsel is permanent.
The word "counsel" (etsah) means deliberate purpose, planned intention, strategic design. God's plans aren't improvised reactions to human behavior — they're eternal purposes that preceded and will outlast every human agenda. The word "standeth" (amad) means to endure, to remain standing when everything else falls.

Every human scheme has an expiration date. Every political agenda, every corporate strategy, every personal five-year plan will eventually be replaced or forgotten. God's counsel won't.
